Mischief Monday: Christmas Delays!

It's pure coincidence that I recently found out that it is during this time that I should be sending out all my mails for Christmas.

Last year, we joined our first Christmas Card Exchange. Coincidentally, 364 days ago, I had done all these already.

LAST YEAR: A Whole Lot of Dog Christmas Postcards to Send Out

This year, I haven't even designed our post card yet. -___-

These are the days that I am glad that I write my posts as myself and not as Chooey. Because if it were up to her, you'd probably be reading a whole article of disgruntled dogs and an irresponsible Haopee.

So for those who will be receiving our cards late, I am now sending out my apologies for the delay.

We've joined the Monday Mischief bloghop.

Mischief Monday: How to Torture a Kong Tennis Ball

Today, I and the pack shall teach you the ancient ways of torture used on a modern item.

Warning: Graphically morbid descriptions!

Exhibit A is a Kong AirDog Squeakair Tennis Ball. As you all know... it squeaks.

To maximize pain and suffering to this so-called sturdy, dog-safe squeaking tennis ball. You first have to break its spirit.

Exhibit B is an AirDog which has been bruised and battered both physically and emotionally. See its yellow green skin being torn from it!

Now that it has squeaked its final plea to leave this earth and cross the rainbow bridge for dog toys,  gently peel and listen to its excruciating squeal of death!

Farewell, sturdy Kong squeaker. Perhaps next time, you'll think again before promising the dogs durability.

Don't get me wrong! The ball is still intact... for 3-4 days at the most.

This blog hop is brought to your by SnoopysDogBlog!

A Funny Dog Story: The Continuation of the Underwear Bandit

Remember when I talked about the two mischievous dogs who stole the guests' underwear... Well, a hero arose from all the mayhem.

Her name...CHOOEY, Warrior Princess

Two white ogre puppies stole the underwear. Shih Tzu Princess Chooey to the rescue!!!

Not only is the Shih Tzu princess loved by her people (peepz) but she is also relied upon for her courage and bravery in the face of underwear chaos.

Translation: She literally took the underwear from the two cream-colored hyperactive dogs and returned it to the owner. And yes, I am one proud mama.

One of the guest who had just hung her underwear on the clothesline had to chase the sneaky dog bandits (err... puppy ogres) for hours.

Fortunately, Princess Chooey was on the watch. She took the underwear from their canine clutches and strutted down the castle grounds carrying the prized underwear towards her people (our female human guest).

"Here's your treasure. They won't bother you again."
Translation: She gave the underwear back to the owner. LITERALLY!

By the way, I almost forgot to post about the giveaway Ms. Peggy Frezon sent me through my sister in the US.

The Secret of Happy Ever After by Lucy Dillon
Thanks, Peggy. My sister told me that after you emailed me about the book, she got it in the mail the day after. I read some parts of The Secret of Happy Ever After and am awed by how well written it is. Can't wait to finish it.

Mischief Master Class: A Case of Mistaken Doggy Identity

As we've mentioned earlier, we finally received our Mischief Master Class book. Yes, Chooey and Buchi... errr Peanuts... are famous.

Even in Snoopy's absence, this book is up to mischief! LOL

By the way, Peanuts is doing pretty well with my beau. This picture was taken last June when I visited her to see how my soul dog was. Apparently, I'm no longer her first love. She only allows pretty pictures when my beau holds the camera.

Shattered Shih Tzu Dreams Sunday

I had hoped to give this post the title "How much is that doggy in the window?"

But then, I remembered how Buchi just loves the ladies.

Ironically, the one who's doing the humping is Chooey. And what's even more peculiar is that Rin's beginning to exhibit dominant behavior. She's peed on Ducky and one more victimized dog toy.

Need I say more?
I believe this qualifies for a Mischief Monday... Happy Sunday!

A Funny Dog Story: The Underwear Bandits

Breaking news! A number of underwear garments have gone missing ever since a group of settlers have invaded the MyDogsLove.Me pack habitat.

Translation: Our families and close relatives spent their vacation here because my sister and her husband we're about to get the house blessed. Some underwear garments have gone missing.

It was pandemonium! A chaos of of questions boggled the minds of these settlers. What have they done to have angered the gods?

Translation: They had no idea who the culprit was.

Wanted: Two Exposed Dogs Guilty of Stealing Underwear!

After fervently praying for some answers, a ray of light guided them to the truth they sought.

Translation: They caught two mischievous dogs lying comfortably on the clothes that came from the clothes line.

Tune in for more updates on the suspects that are on the run!

Translation: There's more of this story to come.

Mischief Monday: Catching Up

Well, this is more of an update rather than a separate Mischief Monday post. Of course, we will be tackling multiple mischievous events including my non-stop cough.

Mischief 1: I am still sick. After 3 days of body chills and aches, my sickness has died down to a non-stop cough-a-thon. SO WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?

Mischief 2: Guess who's up to mischief? My housemates! The mailman actually dropped by our house last December 5 with three letters from the card exchange list. My housemates didn't accept the mail because they weren't familiar with the names on the list... I mean, DUH, WHO WOULD SEND MAILS TO CHOOEY, RIGHT?

Mischief 3: I almost lost track of the awards being given to me by Lisa of DogsnPawz. Cotton also gave a very sweet award. THANK YOU TO THE BOTH OF YOU.

Before we go to those awards, here's a short intermission number from my one and only Chooey.

Back to our regular programming...

This Super Sweet Blogging Award is from our good old friend Lisa of DogsNPawz
The rules of this award state that...
  1. Give credit to the blog which nominated you.
  2. Answer the “Super Sweet” Questions.
  3. Pass award on to a baker’s dozen.
Questions:

Cookies or Cake? Cake!
Chocolate or vanilla?  Chocolate
What is your favorite sweet treat?  Polvoron! It's a Filipino delicacy made of milk, peanuts(sometimes) and peanut butter. (You could click on the link for its homemade recipe.)
When do you crave sweet things? Ask and I'll have to kill you
If you had a sweet nickname what would it be?  Chocolate (for Buchi), why? Because he's deadly and lethal.

I'm using the "Sick Card" for the Baker's dozen for now.

The Friendly Blogger Award was given to us by Cotton  and we'd like to thank HIM for that.
Phew! Finally, we are back in business. I hope I don't miss Wordless Wednesday. In the mean time, please drop by Snoops blog as his Mischief Master Class is now on paperback.

Mischief Monday: A Spoiled Little Shih Tzu

Remember when I said that no dogs were allowed inside of the house where I am currently living at? Well, guess what?

Chooey is showcasing her temporary getaway.
Apparently, the cute ones are an exception to the rule.

Somebody gets a free pass to wake up the kids.
And since my bed is tatami-like, Chooey gets first dibs on my toes.

And LOVED... And CRIED UPON ;(
Edit: I have recently heard of Suka's passing. And it pains me to have missed this news that has affected K and my friends so much. For those of you who hadn't heard, please drop by their blog to share some comforting words.

Mischief Monday: Evuhl Evuhl Human!

Dog grooming can come in different styles. Shih Tzus, for example, often have topknots on their head.  Others have their long shih tzu beards tied on. If it were up to me, I'd just leave it alone. But it weren't...

What the hell, human?!?
My sister decided to comb Chooey's beardie. And no, that wasn't enough for her!

I SAID, WHAT THE HELL, HUMAN?!?
Poor Chooey's getting her beardie pony-tailed.

Injustice! My life in this beautiful home is HORRIBLE. Help me, anyone!
My sister thought she looked cute with ponytails on her beardie. Poor Chooey doesn't look happy at all -_-.

Now, we're even! Justice has prevailed.

Mischief Monday: If a Picture Paints a Thousand Words...

Then what in dog's name are you up to, Rin!

Just one of those Rin moments where Photoshop isn't necessary.

P.S. I was supposed to catch up with blogging but my tummy is really hurting bad so please don't think I have forgotten. I am just experiencing an unfortunate achy tummy.

Mischief Monday: Our Responsibility to Our Dogs

Some days ago, I found a humongous .. no wait... a GINORMOUS tick on Buchi's back. So I, the responsible owner, have decided to give him a nice refreshing bath.

Just look at the joy in his face. You can feel it radiating all over the picture! (^o^)

Follow the Dog Home : A Book Review

A month ago, I had entered DogznPaws' contest winning myself a book written by Bob, Samantha and Kevin Walsh titled Follow the Dog Home. We finally received the book last August 28,2012 after claiming it in our local post office.

Thank you for the book, Lisa! We loved it so much.
Follow the Dog Home talks about 3 generations of dog ownership and how these dogs have made a significant difference in the Walsh's lives.  Yes, non dog-lovers may find it hard to relate to but it's certainly a book worth reading (with emphasis on well-written plots, amazing stories, comedic experiences and heart wrenching page-turners).

If you read it and you're a dog lover, you'll most likely find yourself nodding, laughing and crying at each dog chapter. If you read it and you're just a book lover, you'll appreciate the vivid descriptions, hilarious and dramatic aspects of each dog plot, and the smooth transition from one storyteller to another recreating the same moment in their own point of view.

I would have loved sharing my favorite stories with you but they were too many to mention. And that would just beat the logic of making a review. Although I have to say, my two favorite stories are those of Dannie and Susie.

In Honor of Our Mischief Monday Tradition...

Looks like dogs, cats and pawrents aren't the only ones capable of mischief.
I had my niece reading Dannie's story (just the last 2-3 pages of it) and this is how she reacts. Why you may ask does she have a blanket on top of her head... Well,  that's because she, like her aunt, couldn't help but cry at the frustrating turn of events.

So here's my personal message to the Walsh Family: Follow the Dog Home, written by three generations, made two generations of MyDogsLove.Me cry. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.

Mischief Monday on a Tuesday: A Rin-ny Day

Okay, so we haven't been around for some time. Busy, busy and all.

Before I start with anything, I'd like to warn you that this mischief isn't about the dogs but the CCTV company I talked with yesterday. So before anything else, let me showcase some solo pictures of Rin.

As you could see, Rin loves the camera. She doesn't avoid it like Peanuts or Chooey.

She even comes close to it and creates her own photo effects such as WARPING.

Her inquisitive side allows her to have me catch pictures like this. And no, we aren't promoting the beer bottles at the bottom.

This is her NOSE POSE. Are you guys familiar with this?
Rin hates the flashy beast but she's never experienced that from me, so even when I raise my phone's camera to catch her in action, she doesn't bother with it at all.

Now for the mischief part, have you ever experienced having your computer remotely accessed by tech support people because you couldn't fix the problem yourself?

Well, this was what happened to me yesterday. I was setting up the CCTV of my sister's home when I was stuck at logging into it. Without a manual to read or a software to install, I had to call their tech support.

While talking on the phone, the tech guy kept asking for my name and number. I didn't give my number because I didn't know them. I just wanted to know how to fix the problem. But they kept on insisting that they even messaged me in TeamViewer still asking for my number.

Source: Wikimedia Commons
Note: TeamViewer is an application used to access a computer remotely with that same application in it installed.

Okay, now for the mischief part. These guys were very insistent that they still messaged me even after fixing my CCTV issue. And yet again, I tell them that I don't give my number to strangers. Trusting that they had the courtesy and respect of most technical support agents, I left TeamViewer on while I was talking to my sister.

The next thing I knew, they had activated the laptop's webcam without my consent and was watching our every move. THE NERVE!!!

Mischief Monday: Little Human Equals Little Meanie

Dear Bloggy Friends,

Chooey has especially requested that the injustice done to her by a human be posted to show the world how meanies come in all forms and sizes.

So, please prepare yourself to see her definition of dog cruelty.

Ready?

Shame on you for using me as a puppy shield!
Are you really sure only dogs and cats are up to mischief today?

Mischief Monday: The Marikina Veterinary Clinic Visit

Today, we were able to find some time to visit the vet and have our "issues" checked-up. Chooey wasn't too excited at all about it.

She looks sad doesn't she?
Apparently, she knows the leash isn't good news. You'd think she knows she was going to the vet... or something (^_^).

You must be wondering what she's thinking of.
The Marikina Veterinary Clinic is my favorite dog and cat clinic. Before they do a dog check up, they'll cut the nails and remove the ear hairs of your dog free of charge. More importantly, they're very effective. This was where I brought Buchi when he got the nasty mange attack.

Just my petty attempt to create a panoramic view of the Marikina Veterinary Clinic
The Marikina Veterinary Clinic consultation fee is 250 php (roughly $7). They were nice enough to exempt Buchi from the check-up fee as they only charged for Chooey's. Veterinary care doesn't get more generous and genuine than this.

Chooey seems comfortable with her Vet Tech. She's now looking at the Belgian Malinois in the grooming area while waiting for Ms. Vetty.
You must be wondering where the mischief is. Ready for it?

Oh, the horror! Oh, the horror!
Luckily, Buchi's little boy area isn't as infected as we thought it was. In the mean time, the cone of shame- err, the Elizabethan Collar- will have to stay there for a week.

For more information about the Marikina Veterinary Clinic, you can visit this link.

Mischief Monday: Procrastinating with Awards

Question: So Haopee, how many awards did you get before you decided to write this post?

Answer: A LOT!

List of Awards

First and foremost, I would like to thank each and every single being, human and pet alike who awarded these to me.

We have been awarded the Very Inspiring Blogger Award by Brando and Bogart, Dachshund Nola and Alison and Zoe from Pawfect Days.

The  Illuminating Blogger was given by Carolyn and Austin of Catachresis and Gronk and Izzie.

Lastly, the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award! came from Poppy.

Two blogging awards (namely the Very Inspiring Blogger Award and the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award) had the same rules which required us to share 7 things about ourselves and pass it to 15 bloggers.

The Illuminating Blogger Award required us to share one interesting fact about ourselves and for it to be forwarded to 5 others. Due to short attention span constraints, we hope no one objects that the 1 fact and 5 bloggers are to be already included in the next segment of this VERY LONG POST.

With no further ado, we'd like to present our Creature Feature.

1. Haopee is a creature of coffee. This means that I'm willing to be paid in form of coffee beans and whipped cream.

2. Chooey is a creature of art. She dances in front of my mom to beg for food.

3. Peanuts is a creature of nature. When she hears commotion outside, she will scratch, whine and look at me hoping I'd let her out.

4. Ginger is a creature of food. She is food driven which means she can learn tricks faster than any of the dogs as long as she's rewarded with food.

5. Coal is a creature of noise. I seriously need to buy a pair of ear plugs. Coal doesn't bark-not once in his entire dog life, he only whines in this high pitched tone.

6. Brother Dog is a creature of fleas. Seriously, he still doesn't want us to touch him- or bathe him for that matter! He is the type who will only come close to his food when the coast is clear.

7. The last person in our creature feature is Haopee's Beau. Yes, you seldom hear about him but he exists. Haopee's Beau is a creature of patience. He puts up with all 6 of us.

Now, to distribute these wonderful awards to other bloggers, I would like to name 15 special bloggers who deserve them very much. And due to the fact that you may have receive these awards already, I would like to request that the rules be bent for the awardees to have the freedom to choose which of the three they prefer posting about.

1. Magic from Life in the Doghouse
2. Bella from Bringing Up Bella
3. Gronk and Izzie, the Two Toilet-Trained Kitties
4. Suka from Suka's Just Sayin
5. Nicki and Derry of Fuzzy Tales
6. Teddy and Sierra of Teddy's Tales
7. Molly the Wally and her Slog it, Blog it
8. Stewey of Stewey Unscene

One moment...Coffee and Sandwich Break ^_^. Kindly make yourselves at home with Peanuts intermission picture.

9. Sally, Luna and Charlie of It's a Weinerful Life
10. Oui Oui and Mica Minnie Moo of Twinkletoe Tails
11. Whisky, Tortie, Tutu and the Entire Crew of The Furries of Whispy
14. Dougall of The Dougal Diaries
15. Lastly, Cotton from A Tale on Cotton The Rescue Dog

Any questions? Violent reactions? No?

Good! Here, have a cookie!
