Breaking Dog News: Shih Tzu Falls Two Stories High SURVIVES!

I was supposed to continue my dog news segment but then...something happened just awhile ago. You wouldn't believe it! I couldn't believe it myself either!!!

Last Wednesday, I had mentioned about The Climb. It's my poetic way of saying "I'm FREAKING OUT by their stairs adventure!"

Stairs to the Third Floor
Back to my stress-ridden news.... Remember when I mentioned Chooey's doggie stairs adventures? She loves playing with Rin on the third floor (like Whitey!).

Long story short, Chooey was getting down these stairs when she SLIPS...TUMBLES... THUDS... FALLS from the SECOND FLOOR STAIRS...DOWN TO THE FIRST FLOOR STAIRS... and gives all of us a HEART ATTACK!

Please refer to the following exhibits.
Our help was trembling and I was speechless trying to fathom what I was supposed to do in case anything bad happened. Images of the vet clinic and how my darling little shih tzu was fairing drove me crazy as I sped down the stairs! Nobody reacted bad which was a good sign. I asked the second help where Chooey was, she simply said "outside"-as if everything was fine. I opened the door and saw our first help carrying the wagging little dog back to the second floor.

I have leashed her for the night because of the fear that it may happen again.
"What the HELL Chooey," I wanted to scream; half-relieved, half-breathless. I heard a series of thuds and a tiny dog yelp but she was OKAY! The dog who fell from the second floor, tumbled and fell on two flights stairs, landed on the ground was left unscathed.

I am thankful that nothing happened to her... so much for Dog News Friday.

  2. OMC, I'd have had a heart attack too. Wow. She's lucky girl, so glad she's okay!

I'd also have needed a stiff drink after that. LOL.

  4. OMD...Chooey! My heart just stopped while I was reading that. I'm glad you're OK, but please stay off the stairs from now on! You're gonna give your Momma gray hair.

  5. Scary and what a fright you must have had. Thank God Chooey was OK. Little dear must have had some bounce that stopped anything worse happening. Great news that all is well. Have a fabulous Friday.

  7. Wow, that is one heck of a fall, it's a miracle she didn't break something. I am so happy that she was okay, you must have been a nervous wreck!
That reminds me of about 8 years ago when Dip fell from the top of the stairs to the bottom. I was paralysed with shock. Luckily she was okay too.

  8. That was frightening! Can something be done to block off those gaps?
My first house rabbit, Looppy, fell down the stairs and cut her lip. Thank goodness it wasn't anything worse.

  9. That is very scary. Mom had a dog before us and he fell down 17 stairs that go from the deck to the yard. He wasn't hurt either. Me and Stanley run down those very stairs so fast mom worries we might fall too. Scary, glad everything was OK!!

    Murphy & Stanley

  11. So Chooey fell down a flight of stairs and is unscathed, but you freaked and have had about 15 years knocked off your life!! Seems a tad unfair!! But glad she is ok. You might need extended bed rest though lol xx

  20. Momma would have been frantic with fear, too! We are so very glad that Chooey bounces and doesn't break. Still, we are sending White Dog positive energy that all is truly OK and that there will be no repeats.

  23. Thanks for stopping over at the Tabby Cat Club for our open house. I am sorry but even kitties that are not tabbies cannot be members but always everyone is welcome to visit and come to our events. I did have neat doggie toys for you to take with you, I hope you enjoyed them.
Those stairs look really scary to me. Please stay away from them and if you have to be on them be careful. Love your background wallpaper on your blog.
