Mischief Monday: The Ride, The Vet and The Hairstyle

Today, we went to the Marikina Veterinary Clinic to have our follow-up consultation. It was a couple of days after the horrible weather so we weren't surprised that there were a lot of dogs waiting for their turn to see the dogtor.

One of Marikina's mode of transportation is the tricycle. It's like a three-wheeled taxi with open air conditioning. This is Chooey's third time to ride it and it's no surprise that she still gets excited with all the sights, scents and sounds.

She's on top of my lap at the moment... no excitement yet.
Together with Buchi, Chooey's like that Energizer bunny that goes on and on and on and on.

This is one of the very few pictures of our tricycle ride wherein she kept still.
As I've said awhile ago, there were a lot of dogs in the clinic  waiting for their turn to be called in, weighted, nails cut, and ear hairs pulled. Chooey thinks that everybody is her friend. Apart from the ones on the picture below, we met more Shih Tzus, a Poodle, and a Shar Pei.

See how evil the vetties are! It's not only Buchi who's wearing the cone of shame, but the Dachshund and another Buchi-looking fellow. It's like they're trying to put all dogs to shame... SO MEAN! Vetties are doing the ultimate mischief.
Bad news though, since the medicine did not take away the warts, Chooey needs to undergo cauterization which costs  approximately 1,000 php (or about $25). The vet said that she just wanted to make sure that it won't spread. And more bad news, Buchi has to wear the cone of shame even longer so he doesn't lick his little boy area.

on the bright side,  the vet did not charge us anything for the follow-up consultation. The Marikina Veterinary Clinic is the coolest!

We were supposed to have him groomed in the clinic today but their groomers were all on a day-off. So we would have to come back tomorrow and bring Buchi to be groomed while Chooey will have her Canine Papilloma (dog warts) cauterized. We hope to come out a wart-less dog.

In the mean time, our friend Suka of Suka's Just Sayin is in need of our power of paws and prayers. Suka is having multiple issues including arthritis, a lung or heart disease and an inner ear problem. Please find the time to drop by their page to lend a supportive paw.

  1. How cool to have a tricycle! I hardly ever get on my bike these days (mostly from laziness, LOL.)
Hope Chooey is okay when she gets her warts removed and they don't come back.

  8. A little piece of duct tape left over a wart will eventually kill it, but I'm guessing that little dogs chew and lick of things like duct tape. :(

  15. Linus likes to sit in my lap at the vets office (he's a 55lb dog). That's the only time he ever tries to get on my lap. I hope Chooey feels beter after his cauterization.

    Take care,

  16. You pups look so cute on the tricycle ride and Chooey, so funny you stuck out your tongue! I guess you had to let your mom know how you feel about having to go to the Vet! BOL!

Does your Vet have a "cone of shame" obsession? That is a lot of pups with those one! Sorry, Buchi, that you need to wear yours longer. Hang in there, buddy! And Chooey, good luck with your wart treatment. I am sending you lots of positive thoughts and my paws are crossed for you! I know you will look and feel better when they are all off. :->

Thank you SO much for mentioning me on your blog. You have such big hearts! It means a lot to me, and I know all the extra love and prayers and healing vibes I am receiving are helping me. Thank you also for your very kind words of support on my blog. I am still not doing well, but hanging in there. I will try to post an update later this week. I really appreciate your kindness and friendship. Thank you!

  18. Hopefully the cauterization will get rid of those warts once and for all. Whisky has a wart on her muzzle but the vet says it's common in older dogs (she's almost 13) and that we should just leave it alone since it doesn't bother her. I think it bothers me more than it does her. :)

  19. That tricycle is so cool!! Can't imagine it being used here mainly because of the terrible weather and all the hills! Hope Chooey will be wartless and smiling soon! Tell Buchi he is wearing the latest in designer collars and he is setting a trend! xox

  21. After giving our mom pawsome birthday gifts she took all of us to the Vishus Evil Torcherer (VETs) and we all got shots! How mean!!

Thank you for your kind thoughts at the passing of my mom. Its comforting to know there are such nice people out there. It really meant a lot.

  22. An interesting day for you. We imagine a dog could enjoy the open air ride once he gets used to it.

  23. The ride looks like fun, but NOT the vet visit! We appreciate your keeping Quinn in your thoughts as we struggle to find a balance for him. He is walking better but the manic behaviors are now uncontrolled which causes him to pace and be spacey.

Glad you were able to get Chooey's warts taken care of in time! By the time Nuka came to us, it was too late and they had spread so that there are now too many to cauterize. So we treat her sensitive skin and love our lumpy girl. The turneric has helped them a bit though, thanks for that advice!

  24. Oh that cone of shame . . . we have never had to wear it but thought we might have to when we got neutered. So we promised to be good and did not have to wear it. We hope everything turns out OK!!

    Your friends,

    Murphy & Stanley
