Two Hours of Grooming...

And this is the result. An unfinished cut with emphasis on the "booted" paw. This is Buchi, by the way. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned him in some of my comments and posts.

Buchi, my Shih-Tzu... Errr, we broke up. He's no longer mine but my nieces'.
He's the Shih-Tzu living with my sister and her family. He's currently 2... turning 3. LOL, I was never so good at keeping tabs on dates, even when it came to biped birthdays.

I decided to bathe him a couple of days ago. I've been a bit busy here, which is why I haven't responded much to comments or bloghopping. Anyway, hoping to get myself up and running through your blogs once I'm done with fixing those computers (for now).

Thank you for bearing with me.

  1. A "booted paw" ???? And I know what two hours of grooming is like. Tiring, torture and uncomfortable. No wonder I get stroppy and mum has to feed me treats to get through to the end. Feel for ya Buchi.

    1. We just groomed him today. It took us more than four hours and I got myself some pretty weird sunburns on my neck and back.

  3. I used to want to be a dog groomer. Until I tried it. Dogs really like to wiggle.

  6. Poor Buchi, Mum has to shave me (Dante) when the weather gets hotter because my coat is too thick. She has to do it herself because the groomers round here say they don't do big dogs- size-ist I say!
Mum always leaves me with bald patches too :(

    1. Oh I certainly will. Now let's discuss transportation, will he be able to fit in those 1x1x2 feet boxes. Do you have LBC where you're at? Or do you prefer Fed-ex?

Really? They're particular in size? That's plain Size-ist!

  8. He's a cutie! Wow do hours?! You have way more patience then I do! SO glad Nola only needs and occasional brushing and a weekly bath (she has more skin issue then any dog I've ever met, weekly oatmeal baths are a must for her)

    1. He is. He's also the best dog to take out in walks. It only takes me a couple of minutes to tire him out which makes my job way easier.

  12. If I had to spend two hours grooming Bella, I'm quite certain we'd have a parting of ways (read: she would run away from home and I might consider helping her pack. ;)

Buchi is quite a cutie "unfinished" cut or no.

    1. Well, Buchi hates the groomer because for one, he pulls the hair out of his ears.

  14. Poor Buchi,

2 hours of grooming sounds familiar!! But not with all that equipment, the good thing about being a Beardie is I don't need to have my coat cut, just brushed.

Thank goodness Mum can't experiment and see if she could be a hairdresser and use me as a Guinea Pig!! :)

    Have fun

  15. He is a sweetheart, and he does look adorable.

Mama tried to groom me once. She got one of those kits and everything... But... Sadly, she did an awful job and my fur was uneven everywhere. BOL.

One side was furry and the other side wasn't.
So she never did it again..

    1. Haha. My first that was as awful too. But ever since Buchi stayed with my sister, she decided to buy a dog clipper. But I think it's a little dull so it took me hours to make it look like a clean cut.

  16. OUr Scrappy got kicked out of the groomers so My Vickie does him and it is not a pretty time when the two of them are working on it.

And oh, what a pathetic job she does. Poor Scrappy walks around with his head held down in shame for weeks.

    It's kind of funny.....

    1. LOL, better than getting the cone of shame, dear Bert. LOL. I'm sure my Vickie's intentions are pure. It's too bad some dogs haven't learned grooming manners.

    1. LOL,have you experienced 4 hours x 1 doggy? My recent one got me and Buchi pretty tired.

  20. Even though I am very floofy, my groomer says I am a 20-minute dog. I just sit there, resigned, unmoving, until they are done with the torture.I HATE the crate with the driers in them, though. Feel you pain, buddy!

Good luck on exorcising demons from computers! Momma asks for forgiveness on her slow response...
