Burp! Dog Treats: No Good for Coal

I wanted to start Coal on clicker training. Unfortunately, since the reward system should start with the reward at hand, I impulsively picked one without considering that Coal was into meat than sugary treats.

I bought a 250g container of Burp! Doggy Biscuits and gave it a try. At first, Coal was enjoying the strawberry flavored bone shaped biscuit. So now I started teaching him the "Sit" trick. He doesn't get it at first even when I raise it above his nose moving backward so he gets into a sit position. Eventually with a little determination and whole lot of patience, we were able to accomplish it for the first time, I immediately pressed the clicker and hand out the melon flavored treat. He enjoys it yet hates that he has to chew it hard.

After a number of those, I come across the milk flavored one. With the sound of the clicker's clicking, he approaches me for the treat but only smells it- staring at me as if saying "I NO LIKEY!". I pick out the cheese treat and he gives the same reaction, as well. I get back to the strawberry treat and he nips it with his mouth, enjoying his reward.

Fortunately, Miga ( our neighbor's dog who does her daily visitation) just loves the milk biscuits.

Edit: Miga is secretly getting training lessons. She's a very very fast learner. I'm sure my neighbor won't mind, right? Coal seems to be enjoying the friendly competition. He is now surprisingly eating both milk and cheese flavored biscuits.
